WHO CAN USE OUR HALL?

We welcome all kinds of users at Marksbury Village Hall:

  • Individuals (parishioners and non-parishioners)

  • Community groups

  • Clubs & societies

  • Family & children's parties

  • Charity events

  • Dance groups

  • Retail events

  • Theatre groups

  • Schools

  • Space for formal meetings and AGMs.

 

We have a main hall with a small stage, fully equipped kitchen with serving hatches, toilets and heating. The main hall has the benefit of a wooden, sprung dance floor. There is off-street parking for approximately 10 cars. Adjacent to the hall is a good sized children's play area with play equipment.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Please refer to our list of Hire Charges below. This is reviewed on the 1st October every year.

Special Notes:

  • Discounts are available for regular users and community groups – please apply for the rates and booking slots by emailing marksburyvillagehall@gmail.com.  Discounted hire charges apply to organisations who meet at least once a month and pay in advance.

  • The minimum hire period is 2 hours.

  • For parties and events, a set-up and clean-up period of 30 mins will be given free of charge either side of the booking slot. All hirers are fully responsible for leaving the Village Hall as they find it.

  • For events where there will be more than 40 persons in attendance, a Damage Deposit Bond of £100 may be requested (at the discretion of the Bookings Secretary).  This will be returned within 7 days of the event date, in full or less any costs of damage/cleaning. 

  • You must read and agree to our full Terms & Conditions of Hire (below) before making a booking, paying special attention to our Fire Regulations. 

 

HOW DO I BOOK?

Please follow this bookings process:

  1. Please refer to the Bookings Calendar to find a suitable free date and time for your event.

  2. Download and complete one of the Booking Forms to the right (either the Single Use Form or the Regular User/Community Group Form, depending on your booking type).

  3. Email the completed Booking Form to marksburyvillagehall@gmail.com giving at least seven days notice of your intention to hire.  You can also post it to Bookings, Marksbury Village Hall, c/o 121 Marksbury, BA2 9HP.

  4. Make your payment - the full charge for a Single Use is due at the time of booking and is payable by BACS or cheque (see Booking Form for payment details). Payment for Regular Use/Community Groups is by arrangement (please contact us to discuss). We prefer not to accept cash.

  5. If you are unable to download or print our Booking Form or make online/cheque payments, please email us on the address above and we will assist you.
